Warm Up
Most amateurs don’t realize or pay attention to it; getting your body warmed up to play is as important in golf as in football or any other sport.
Flexibility is a must have in playing golf. So many players are rushing to the first tee box because their running late or just feel that warming up is not that important, then stumble through the first few holes and ruin their changes of scoring. Then after two or three holes their body’s gets loose enough to swing effectively.
I feel that walking the course is very important or walking the first nine holes and riding the back nine that is if your playing on a course that you can walk. Your game will get better and your scores will come down, your brain will be telling your body to hit the ball starter and most important you will stay focused on the game longer.
If you have any physical problems, or suspect that you might, be sure to get the approval of your doctor before starting any kind of regimen.
Here are some fast warm up drills to do before heading to the first hole
1. Take your driver and hole it out in front of you with two hands chest high, slowly swing it side to side keeping your feet together and as you get looser widening your feet a little at a time doing this at least 10 times.
2. Taking the driver holding it out in front chest high with two hands and bending at the waste slowly lower it as far down as you can then lift the club up and over your head do this 10 times. For the more flexibly people keep moving the club behind your head until the clubs shaft it as far back as you can and bend down from the waste and swing your body side to side this will stretch your shouters and arms.
3. Taking the drive and swing it slowly back and forth with your hands apart about three inches on the grip, keeping your right arm as strait as you can, holding it at the top of your back swing for 3 sec. and again holding it at the finish for 3 sec. doing this for 10 swings.
I don’t feel that you need to waste too much time trying to be perfect with your warm up Rather, you should loosen your muscles and hit enough balls on the range to see what your swing and ball flight is doing that day. Don’t try to change your swing or ball flight before playing your round of golf, just play with what you came with that day. Changing your golf swing is for the range only.
Try this Tip the next time out to lower you golf score
Don’t hit the driver off the first tee, try the three wood for the first hole or two, until your muscles are wormed up just doing this your over all scores will come down.
